The City Hospital celebrates its first anniversary today, 22nd October 2009 with a free birthday party and cake on the hospital grounds for all its patients and staff.

The hospital opened its doors on 22nd October 2008 as the first multi-specialty hospital in Dubai Healthcare City.

Since then more than 60,000 patients were treated and 455 babies were born under its roof.

In February 2009, the well established and reputable Interventional Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Unit at Welcare Hospital moved to the new state-of-the-art department based at The City Hospital where it will continue to deliver the highest quality of care. Its Laboratory has been awarded accreditation by the Commission on Laboratory Accreditation of the College of the American Pathologists (CAP), based on the results of a recent onsite inspection. The CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program, begun in the early 1960s and is recognized by the United States federal government as being equal to or more stringent than the government's own inspection program.
