EHL to mark World Heart Day with free health check-ups

EHL is marking this year’s World Heart Day - A World Health Organization (WHO) initiative - on 27th September, 2009, by offering free public health checks at six EHL health care centers across Dubai.

The health checks, which include free blood pressure, blood sugar and body mass index (BMI) tests, are intended to encourage UAE residents to take the first step towards health improvements. EHL staff  will also offer people general advice and tips on how to stay as healthy as possible.

The tests will be available on a drop-in basis at Welcare Hospital, The City Hospital, Welcare Ambulatory Care Center, Welcare Clinic Mirdif, Welcare Clinic Qusais and Emirates Diagnostic Clinic, on 27th September, from 8:00 to 17:00 (5 p.m.).

World Heart Day annually seeks to raise awareness of key health issues that affect people around the globe. The theme for this year’s event is ‘Work with Heart’ and focuses on promoting a workplace that encourages healthy habits that play a role in reducing heart disease and strokes.
