Cervical Smear Test
This test is used to detect cervical cancer and used to check the health of the cervix, which is the lower part of the womb.
This test is done by the medical practitioner and it involves brushing the cervix to collect cells for examination. Since an internal examination is necessary for accurate results, if you are a virgin please consult your doctor for advice. If you are menstruating, you should wait until your period has finished.

- A Cervical Smear and pelvic exam are important parts of a women's routine health care because they can detect cancer or abnormalities that may lead to cancer of the cervix.
- Women should have a Cervical Smear at least once every 3 years, beginning about 3 years after they begin to have sexual intercourse, but no later than age 21.
